Xandeum's Freiburg release is here!

 

 

Xandeum’s Freiburg release (version 0.2) marks an exciting leap forward in building a scalable storage layer for Solana. With this release, you can now create and destroy file systems on Devnet using the bigBang and armageddon primitives. It’s the first building block of a fully decentralized, smart contract-native storage solution designed for Web3. Freiburg works seamlessly with Solana’s transaction pipeline, delivering a smooth and reliable experience. Follow these five easy steps to dive into the Freiburg release. We’ve added screenshots with arrows to make it a breeze to follow along!
 

1. Install Backpack Wallet

  • Grab the Backpack wallet if you don’t have it yet—it’s your key to Xandeum Devnet. Download and install it to get started.

2. Connect Your Wallet to Xandeum Devnet

  • Open Backpack and switch to Xandeum Devnet via the custom RPC settings. This connects you to the right network for testing.

3. Access the Test App

  • Head to the Xandeum test app website and link your Backpack wallet. Once connected, you can trigger bigBang to create a file system or armageddon to wipe one out.

4. Send Primitives

  • In the test app, choose to create a file system with bigBang or destroy one with armageddon. Just follow the prompts to make it happen and remember the FSID value needs to be greater than zero in order to be able to run the armageddon command!

5. Verify Your Actions in showAtlas

  • Visit the showAtlas app to see your work in action. It displays all file systems created on Devnet, including who made them, so you can confirm everything worked.
